German Eurodance project started in 1994 by producers [a194297 (as [a555425) and [a724393 (as [a555424). The project's main focus was the adaptation of 1980's Pop hits into 1990's Eurodance style. The first singles were cover versions of [a70735 songs, later also other bands were covered. The first singles were released under the [l10390 label for [l561.
The project was performed by [a17722992 (Jama Johnson) and various female lead- and backing vocalists. On some sources, [a498049, [a425201 and [a244448 are mentioned. The booklet of their album lists Serena M "Pearl" (rap, background vocals, live performing), Kristy B (background vocals, live performing), Zlata K "Swat" (background vocals, live performing, dancer). Most likely, these are aliases used for the above artists.
The project started back in late 1994 with the Eurotrance style cover of "Hymn" originally released by Ultravox (November 27, 1982). The song entered the Top10 in Israel (more precisely #4) and in Germany and peaked at #1 in Spain and Italy for 12 weeks. After this great success with sales, live performances and media attention, the producers decided to keep on making Eurodance cover versions of Ultravox hits.
The next and most successful single in Germany was "Dancing With Tears In My Eyes", released in 1995, which also entered the Top10 in Israel (peak at #4), Spain, Italy and Germany (peak at #2).
Eventually, in 1995 the 3rd single was released. "Love Is A Shield", a cover version of the Camouflage song from the 1980's. The single reached #1 in Israeli dance chart, #1 in Italy, #5 in Spain and entered the Top20 in Germany.
They further released their debut album in 1995, "The Elements". The album included the track "Lover With An Attitude", which launched the side-project [a231081, featuring Pearl, Zlata and Kristy B.
The next single "Faith Is Rising" entered the Top40 in Germany, Spain, Austria, Italy and Belgium. The last single from the album "Nanaya", sampled from Israeli national anthem, was released in early 1997. Although it charted in Europe, Nanaya failed in other parts of the world.
The producer team also did dance remixes for other artists and projects.
