Born Carlisle, England 1964. British dance singer best known for her 1994 dance version of Bonnie Tyler's 'Total Eclipse of the Heart', which reached the US Top 2 and UK Top 5, and for representing the United Kingdom in the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm. The single "Total Eclipse of the Heart" also reached No.1 in a number of countries – Japan, Canada, Spain and Brazil – as well as charting in Australia, Germany, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway. French sold in excess of 5 million copies.
Her follow up single 'Don't Play That Song Again' reached the UK chart position 34 in 2000; 'For All We Know' (UK chart position 42, in 1995); 'Did You Really Love Me' (UK chart position 55 in 1995); 'Is There Anybody Out There?' (UK Chart #83, in 1995); 'Te Amo' (UK Chart #84 in 1997)
